Patton

When George Smith Patton was young, he knew he wanted to be a soldier. But not just any soldier, he had his sights fixed on being a combat general. Patton’s trademark arms were his ivory handled Top Smith & Wesson .357 Magnum and Colt .45 1873 model. In the late 1930’s Patton was promoted to brigadier general and he was put in command of a new armoured brigade, which he had to create by training the men in obsolete tanks. As Patton’s force expanded, it became the 2nd Armoured Division. He soon turned The 2nd Armoured Division into a formidable fighting implement. As the armoured division forces expanded, Patton was given command of the 1st Armoured Division. In 1943 Patton was given command of the 7th U.S. Army. He began training his men for the invasion of Sicily. Patton later found himself in trouble with other military leaders after he slapped a man he considered a coward. in 1944 Patton was given command of the 3rd Army which became one of the greatest fighting forces in U.S. history. Patton was killed in a car accident in 1945.
