Here are Some Fun Facts!

 

1. They can't fly, but they can swim!

2. They are slow on land, but they are quick in water!

3. They use their wings as flippers!

4. Under their waterproof feathers, there is a thick layer of fat!

5. Penguins go no farther north than the Galapagos Islands in the southern hemisphere!

6. There are about 18 species of penguins!

7. The most common species in Antarctica are the Emperor and the Adelie!

8. Little is known about when penguins are at sea!

9. Penguin chicks are small, brown, and fuzzy!

10. When incubating the egg, a parent will hold the egg between it's webbed feet!

11. One parent holds the egg while the other is hunting!

12. Penguins are faster than Leopard seals on land!

13. There are 2 types of penguin, the non - crested and the crested!
