Baseball has been exciting for more than 100 years! The first game resembling baseball was played in Hoboken, New Jersey, on June 19, 1846. The New York Nine beat the New York Knicker Bockers that day 23 to 1.

The game was played by the rules that Alexander J. Cartwright thought of. It's a myth that Abner Doubleday invented baseball. It was Alexander, not Doubleday. It was Doubleday, who first laid out the basic dimensions and the basic rules of the game. The first professional baseball team was the Cincinnati Red Stockings, who traveled the country in 1869 and didn't lose a game that season. Later baseball began to attract fans.

With the fans' support, baseball has grown into one of the most popular sports in America. The love of the game has motivated us into creating this site. Click on any of the buttons to find out more about the game. We want to thank Mr. Bob Sly for the TOTALLY AWESOME interview; what an entertaining guy. Have fun exploring the wonderful world of baseball!!!
