Carman Lopez Garza

Carman Lopez Garza is a southwest artist and writer.    She is considered to be one of the major Mexican painters in this country.   She was born in 1948. She taught herself the elements of drawing, and at the age of 13, she decided to make art her career.  Ms. Garza works as an illustrator of books. Many of her books feature paper cut-outs and paintings. She also has been featured in shows and gallerys thought the country. All of her works reflect her childhood memories. They show everyday activities from making tamales and dancing to Tejano music.
