Call us the Pele Menehunes (little folks). We are fifth graders at Lunalilo Elementary School. Learn about us by clicking on the pictures next to our islands.Tahiti - Carli
Oahu - Cherie
Maui - Lianne
Tahiti - My name is Carli. I have an older sister who attends Maryknoll School, and a younger brother who also goes to Lunalilo. After school I attend gymnastics at HIT. In my spare time I really enjoy reading and riding my bike. I also enjoy going to the park and the beach with my family.
Our project, PELE'S JOURNEY . . . DESTINATION KILAUEA, helped me to know the legend of Pele's travels and how it explains our islands background. I learned how hard it is to make a Web page. I believe making a Web page as a team is a very good experience because everyone has a set responsibility to finish and if it's not completed, the whole team gets in trouble. But I believe the project was really fun and exciting.

Kaua`i - My name is Timothy. My favorite sport is basketball. When I play my N 64, my favorite game is "007 Golden Eye." I also play with my little brother named Alan.
Our Web site is about Pele's journey through the Hawaiian Islands. But we couldn't do all the islands she stopped at since we didn't have enough time to create that many pages. We concentrated on the five main and largest islands where Pele left a lot of legends and we could find references. Pele isn't that well known to the rest of the world, but if you come to Hawaii you might just hear a lot of people talking about her. We hope you will learn why we consider her important by reading our Web site.

O`ahu - Hi, it's me, Cherie O. I am one of the team members of the Pele Web site and am 11 years old. I have a couple of hobbies. They are drawing (mainly doing sketches), going on the computer, hanging out with my friends, and dancing in my free time.
I am delighted to have you visit our site. I hope you learn more about Pele, our volcano goddess, her journey to Hawaii, and why she is so important to us. I also hope you like the home page, which I created. Remember there is a word game, too. Hope you have fun!!!

Moloka`i - Hi, my name is Jasmine! I am 10 years old. My favorite sports are softball, basketball, and volleyball. I dance the hula, too, and am familiar with Hawaiian chants.
I liked working on this Pele project because I had a good learning experience on computers. I used Kid Pix and Claris Works to create my pages on Moloka`i, Pele's chant, the word game, and others. By doing this project, I got to work with different people, and I got to know them better.

My part of the project was the Big Island and Kilauea Volcano. So thank you for visiting our site and keep on surfin'!
