Laura Ingalls Wilder was born on Febuary 7, 1867 in the big woods of Peppin, Wisconsin. Her parents were farmers. Laura spent her childhood moving from place to place and playing on the praries. She also went to Barry school in Wisconsin with her sister Mary.

She married Almanzo Wilder on August 25,1886.Laura and Almanzo had two kids. The first one was Rose who was born December 5,1886. Their was born in August of 1889 and died 12 days later.

The first book she wrote was Little House in the Big Woods written in 1932 when she was 65 years old. These Happy Golden Years was the last book that got published before her death on Feb 10, 1957 at the age of 90.

After Laura died they found the books The First Four Years , On the Way Home and West From Home.
