Elections are held every four years on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November. Candidates must be born in the U.S., and be at least 35 years old. You also have to live in the U.S. for 14 years.

Voters must be 18 years of age, american citizens, and registered to vote in their state.

Before the General Election, most states hold Primary Elections. These elections help leaders of the political parties decide who to nominate to run for President of the United States.
