Theodore Rosevelt

Vice president Theodore Roosevelt succeeded to the presidency upon president McKinley's death in 1902, and then was re-elected as the Republican candidate in 1904. During his active presidential life Theodore Roosevelt was the first president to ride in a submarine and in an airplane, and he approved the formation of our first five national parks. Roosevelt promoted the construction of the Panama Canal, and was the first president to win a Nobel Peace prize
