Richard Nixon was elected President in 1968. He was Vice-president to Dwight Eisenhower. He lost the Presidential race to John Kennedy. Nixon saw the media as his enemy because they always were leaking false information to the public. He hired a group of people to stop leaks of information called the "plumbers." Nixon resigned after break-ins the "plumbers" performed were exposed.
