What is Marina City?

Marina City is a semi-circular building that was built in 1959. Many people say the building resembles corncobs (which you can see in the picture). The amount of money to construct this was $36,000,000.

Who built Marina City?

Marina City was designed by Bertrand Goldberg. He was born in 1913 and studied at Harvard, as well as Illinois Institute of Technology. He also worked with Ludwig Mies van der Rohe.

How many apartments and cars can it hold?

Marina City has four hundred and fifty apartments in each of the towers. The apartments are in the top portion of the bulding. The parking portion of the building can accomodate 450 automobiles.
