About Us
We're a group of six fourth and fifth
graders from Sherwood School in Highland Park, Illinois.
Sherwood School is an elementary school with grades
Kindergarten-5th. You can see Sherwood' s website by

here.
The kids who designed this site are
Kevin, Mike, Bryan, Linden, Debbie, and Melanie. We were
chosen last December by teachers after we filled out
applications to be on the ThinkQuest Jr. team. This is
the third year Sherwood School has participated in
Thinkquest Junior.
Our team decided to do a site on
Chicago architecture because we live near Chicago, and we
study Chicago history. We also chose this topic because
Chicago architecture is very interesting and unique and
others should know about it.
We worked very hard on this site. We
gave up many recesses, came in early some mornings,
stayed after school, worked during our free time, and
even came in on the weekends. We had to do a lot of
research in order to do all these reports. We got
information about Chicago architecture in books,
encyclopedias, and internet sites. We also interviewed
architects by sending them questions by e-mail. Our group
went one Sunday in January to Chicago and Oak Park to go
on architectural tours. We took some pictures, and got
more information on Chicago's buildings.
When we had all our reports done we
had to design and make the web pages, and put information
on the pages that we designed. When that was done, we
added a timeline, a links page, we drew some pictures,
made a Frank Lloyd Wright tour page, and linked pages
from one to the other. We used Appleworks, Home Page,
PhotoDeluxe, and Fireworks to create our site. We did
editing and troubleshooting on our site, then it was
done.
Two teachers worked with us on this
project. Mr. Brooks was our awesome group leader and Mr.
Shaw was our fabulous technical advisor. ThinkQuest Jr.
is a great web contest. With all the time and effort we
put in this site, we hope you enjoy it.
