Louis Sullivan's amazing life started when he was born September 3, 1856 in Boston, Massachusetts.

What did Sullivan do in his early and middle years?

First Sullivan studied at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Sullivan traveled to several places including Chicago, Philadelphia, and Paris. He finally settled in Chicago. In 1881, Sullivan started a firm with Dankmar Adler. Together they built the Auditorium Building and the Stock Exchange Building. Adler and Sullivan stopped working together in 1895.

What did Sullivan do in his later years?

After ending his relationship with Adler, Sullivan didn't have a lot of people who requesting buildings. The Carson, Pirie, Scott Store (formerly the Schlesinger and Meyer) was his last great building.

Sullivan then started writing books. Some of theses books were, Kindergarten Chats and The Autobiography of an Idea.
