Pahe'e( spear or club throwing)
byKeala Mamala

The Hawaiians used spears and club throwing for training and some just for fun. Some men could throw the clubs and the spears 200 feet. Sometimes they tried to throw a spear between in the ground. Sometimes they trained in a game where two men hold a spear and see which team gets the most fruits. They put padding on the tip of the spears when when they are playing a game. One person threw the spears and the other got to catch or dodge all the spears they throw and they pretend like it is a real battle.

Sometimes the spears were called ihe and it was five feet long. Hawaiians made both of the weapons out of wood.

Pahe'e was played in a special place on kahua field.
