Parents-
*Save some time to spend with your child to see what he/she likes.
*When your child gets into sixth grade, he/she will have a lot of problems ! Try to talk to them about their problems; if they don't want to talk, leave them be and try later.
*When your daughter/son gets a good grade, or receives(or is going to receive) an award, don't just say"good "or "show me later". They've probably worked really hard to earn it, and if you do that, they might not try as hard the next time.
*You are going to fight with your kids a lot! This year your child will probably get in trouble a few times. I'm turning twelve in April and I have to admit I've gotten in trouble alot this year with my parents. When my mom and dad find out, they take away my phone privileges, t.v. privileges , and ground me for about a week . I always learn my lesson when they punish me, because I have alot of time to think about what I've done, and I don't want to get in trouble again.

KIDS-
It's hard to give tips to kids my age, all I can really say, is respect your elders, listen to your parents, and if you really need help with something ask your mom/dad or go check out some of these web sites.
