Causes

In 1763 Great Britain was at its height in power in North America. The treaty that ended the war gave the British most of France's land. The land stretched from the Appalachian Mountains to the Mississippi River and a lot of Canada. A lot of the Americans were proud to be part of the British Empire, which happened to be the most powerful empire at that time. The war began as Americans rebelled against the heavy taxation and control of the British. The colonists wanted a home of their own. A home and land that they had control of.
