Neptune was one of the first planets to be identified as a planet. This was in the year of 1846! Did you know that Neptune is the fourth largest of the gas giants. It is a tiny bit smaller than Uranus. It spins only once every 16 hours. Neptune is over 4,500 million km (about 2,800 million miles) from the sun. WOW!! It's so far away it takes almost 165 Earth years to orbit the Sun. That is really neat !
Neptune is a blue and green planet. Neptune's temperature is an icy -215 degrees . That is very cold. I would not want to live there at all. It would be too cold for anyone to survive.
