With the timber from the dence forests the vikings made ships. These ships were long and good for long voyages. The ships they built were long and narrow. On the back of the boat the ships were carved like a dragon. The dragon's job was to scare the enemie and evil spirts. Also, the ships had names like, "Snake of the sea," or "Raven of the wind." The ships they made were very usefull for traveling and for fighting. Most of the ships that the Vikings made were made with 16 rows of rowers.
