Viking Basic Information

The Vikings lived mostly in the area of Scandinavia. It was full of forests, and rough coastlines. The southern part of Scandinavia was once known as Jutland, modern day Denmark. It has many harbors, and great areas for farming. The vikings grew grains and had cattle, sheep, and pigs. Though the southern part was good for farming, the north had rocky terrain un-suitable for agriculture. Because of the rocky terrain, Vikings turned to the sea for a living. All of the forests had a lot of timber which was used for building ships and houses.
