Myths
The God of the Dead

Ancient Egyptions believed Earth was covered
in water. In the water there was an egg floating. The egg was
Ra or Re, the Sun God. Ra was born.
Osiris, the grandson of Ra, was the first
Pharoah of Egypt. His queen was Isis. They lived happily with
their son, Horus, until the wicked brother of Osiris, Set, became
very jealous. Set's jealousy made him murder his brother Osiris.
Set chopped the body into pieces and threw
it in the Nile River. When Isis, Osiris' wife, found out what
happened she went to the Nile and collected all of Osiris' body
parts. Isis brought them to Anubis, the Jackal-headed God. He
was smart and got Osiris' body to fit together.
But Osiris was not alive again. Osiris became
the God of the Dead. Horus, Osiris' son, found Set, the killer,
and slew him for the murder of his father.
