PROMPT 1 PROMPT 2 What if...PROMPTS
PROMPT 1
You can cut random pictures (of people, animals, food, cleaning supplies, soccer balls, zip lock bags, anything) out of magazines and either glue them into a notebook, or on poster board, and then cut them out. This is a way of making you think.  Pick a picture randomly and either create a character with the people, or decide whether your character likes to play a certain sport, if they are a clean or messy person, etc.  These are small details that make a character interesting.  Also, you can create character profiles and set them aside for a week or two.  Then, take two or three characters that are totally opposite and think of a setting where they would be likely bump into each other.  Those stories get pretty interesting and crazy.

PROMPT 2
Create stories about dreams.

I've had or write about stuff that's bothering me.  Or, use freaky things that have happened to you. It helps make your story more intricate and personal?  Putting more into a story; adding details let's you care your plot. Your stories then become a part of you. It also helps to create themes that you care about.
