Sir Isaac Newton helped the world by giving the world
scientific principles with which to better understand the
world around them. Newton was born 1643. His mother
wanted Isaac to be a farmer, but Newton was very serious
about education. He won the arguement, and went to
Cambridge University. He studied hard day and night.
Newton was very smart. Later Newton returned to
Cambridge to become the youngest professor of
mathematics in the history of the school.

Newton is famous for his discoveries and inventions. He
invented the reflecting telescope. It allowed people to see
further than ever. Newton discovered the laws of gravity
and motion.
These laws described the way an object moves
relative to gravity, and how forces act on that object.
Newton's law explained why rockets go up. The gases
escaping from the bottom of the rocket, push it in an
opposite direction. Newton's laws helped people
understand the world around them.

Newton was considered the best astronomer ever. Newton
was knighted by the King of England, which was very great
honor indeed! Newton was the first scientist ever to gain
that honor. Alexander Pope,a 17th century poet
said,"Nature and Nature's laws lay hid in night:God said,Let
Newton be! and all was light."
