When Neil was just six years old his father took him to the National
Air Races in Cleveland ,Ohio. After Neil saw the races it was like he
could see a pilot in himself! Neil went to Blume High School and then Graduated on to Purdue University.
In 1956 Neil married Janet Sheron. They had three children, named
Erik, Mark and Karen. The three unfortunately died in infancy.
In July 1969 Michael Collins, Buzz Aldrin and Neil A. Armstrong
began their mission to the moon. On July 20th, 1969 at 10:56 pm
Neil stepped off the lunar module and onto the moon. There he said,
"That's one small step for man and one giant leap for mankind". When they returned to earth, Neil was given the medal of Freedom. Neil A. Armstrong retired from NASA in 1971.
I am amazed by Neil's courage and self-confidence and doing
something Extremely new!
