Hey guys and gals, I guess you like ancient shipwrecks. I
hear that this is the best page on our web site. O.K. O.K.
I guess itąs second best after the fun & games page, and next to quizo. So any way, here is some information on shipwrecks. By the way, these arenąt just any old shipwrecks; these ships sank before the Titanic. Some ships sank, and people couldn't even find them. Some people found them, but couldnąt get the remaining parts from the ocean floor. I hope you like the ships I picked out.
One summer long ago, a ship called Brother Jonathan hit
an unexpected rock. It hit the rock while trying to fight
a storm and still make it to the harbor. There were as many as 244 passengers on the boat. When the ship sank only 19 survived! Almost two centuries later they found the ship at the bottom of the sea. They also noticed that the people lost all the cargo that was at the bottom of the sea.
The Empress was on her first voyage in the summer of
1914 heading out of the harbor of Quebec. She was
heading across the North Atlantic to get to Liverpool, England. The Empress of Ireland never reached its port. Only hours later she collided with the Norwegian. They sank at the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
The Badavia was built in 1628. On her first journey she
sank. She sank between Java, which is now Indonesia, and
Australia. Pretty much all the passengers and crew members reached land safely. Fortunately, the ship wss not far from shore. |
