The River of Styx and Mount Olympus
were all parts of the mythical land
where legends come from. The River of
Styx led straight from the mythical
land to the Underworld. The
Underworld was a land of pure hatred,
evil zombies and skeletons that lived in
this inferno of fury. The seas were
acid, and the god who ran the whole
show was Hades or Pluto. Mount
Olympus led to the place where the
gods hang out. In their world, there
must be some kind of golden throne for
Zeus. But away from that, let me tell
you that an anaconda with a horn and a
fin, made entirely from gold, may just
be alive in the seas.

Siren

In Greek mythology, sea nymphs lured
sailors with their singing, causing their ships to
crash into rocks. Greek hero Odysseus was able to
pass the sea nymph's island safely. He got through
because he plugged the ears of all the crew
members with wax and had himself bound to the
shipıs mast. In another legend, the Argonauts
escaped the Sirens because the poet and the
musician Orpheus, was also aboard the ship.
Together they all stamped out the nymphıs song
with the music and singing. By Sarah

The Kraken is a sea monster, which is a
large squid like creature. Unlike some
squid, this is HUGE! Some people say that
ship crashes were just a bad change of
weather, or maybe a wave. However, some
say, the Kraken attacked all the boats and
put them in a watery grave. None of us
know if this is true because, for one, none
of the sailors who died can tell us what
they saw. Second, it could just be a
descendant of the infamous "devilfish".
You still might want to be careful because,
what the doom sayers say just might be
true.
Commonly known sea myths are about the Sea
Serpent, and the Giant Squid. Mermaids and Mermen
are well known too. Donıt let the nice stories about
Mermaids and Mermen fool you. They kill every
sailor who hears their song, by leading them into
rocks. Did you know that Unicorns are a sea myth?
They say that if you are a sailor, and you are away
from your family for long, a Unicorn will rise from
the sea and stop you. Scientists havenıt explored
every inch of the sea. Serpents and monsters may or
may not really exist. Scientists think the Unicorn is
just a narwhale, but it could be a real.

Poseidon was the Greek name for the god
of the sea. Neptune was the Roman name
for him. He was an important character in
mythology. He raged with storms and
earthquakes. When he was really angry, he
split mountains in two and created islands.
People believed that if they went out to
sea, they could die from a Siren, or
maybe, just maybe they would anger
Poseidon or Neptune, and their boat would
get split into an island.
