Sperm Whales are one of the
many toothed whales.
(there are two types of whales: baleen whales and toothed whales). Sperm whales are a dark gray shade in color. Their undersides are a shade lighter. Sperm Whales have the biggest brain of all creatures on earth today. Sperm whales can weigh up to 70 tons and can grow up to 59 feet! The largest sperm whales were once 62 feet in length, but whalers hunted them down and killed them.
Like most whales, the sperm whales breathe air through a blowhole. This blowhole is located in the front of the head. The male whales can dive down 9,800 feet to hunt squid. They can stay down there for about two hours.
These whales are beautiful creatures, so please protect them for centuries to come.
