Komodo Dragons

        Physical Appearance

        Komodo dragons are huge lizards. They can be ten feet long and weigh 300 pounds. Their rough, bumpy, skin is reddish-gray in color. The komodo dragon's babies have yellow looking spectacles on their skin when they are first born. Both adults and children have yellow sticky tongues. They have thick and strong razor sharp claws.

        Habitat

        The komodo dragons are found only in the four islands which are in Indonesia.The island's names are Flores, Padar, Rintja, and Komodo. They are usually found in forests and in the open grassy fields which are found on the island.They usually build burrows under fallen trees and in thick muddy areas. They have to bend their bodies to get into their burrows.

        Eating Habits

        Komodo dragons have a diet that consists of only meat. They eat goats, wild deer, pigs, large and small birds, and fish.
