Happy Hummingbirds
Appearance
The little adorable hummingbird's beaks are like straws. Their beaks are long and skinny and suck nectar from plants. Their beak can be black, reddish, or yellowish. Their feet are so tiny,that they can't walk. Hummingbirds are known for their vivid, shining colors. Their wings can be almost iridescent. The male hummingbirds are prettier than the female hummingbirds.
Habitat
The little cuties live in trees in North and South America. There are no hummingbirds in Europe, Africa, Australia or Europe. They migrate between Central America and Alaska. They travel 2,000miles every Spring and Fall. 
Eating Habits
Some Hummingbirds may go to 1,000 flowers a day. They also suck tree sap. When they are migrating, they feed on stored fat.
Interesting Facts
Hummingbirds are attracted to red fowers. They are not born this way. They learn to like that color. There are at least 319 different types of hummingbirds.They vary in size. When they are flying, they can stop in mid air. Grown hummingbirds weigh less than a pencil. Hummingbirds are the only birds that can fly backwards. They can hover. Their eggs are the size of a penny.
