There are more than 2,000 types of coral. In the warm part of the ocean,all corals except for the Grape coral use the ocean for nutrients. The Grape coral is a meat eater.

The outer layer of a coral is made of poylps, which are very fragile. The skeleton is very hard, and that supports the outer layer. Most grow hard substances, and are all related to the sea anenomes.
