InformationGarnet is a common mineral. However, garnets that have the qualities of a gem are rare. Those garnets are mainly mined in Europe, Russia, and South Africa.
Garnets come in 6 major types: almandine, andradite, grossularite, pyrope, spessartite, uvarovite. Garnets are composed of silica and sometimes of aluminum, calcium, iron, magnesium, and manganese.
