Clatsop and Chinook Indians

"The Indians around Fort Clatsop were; the Killamucks, Clatsops, Chinooks, Cathlahlmahs, and Wac-ki-a-cums"

They were similar in many ways, for instance; dress, manners, and habits. Something that especially intrigued Lewis & Clark about them was the flatness of their heads, which they created when each child was one year old, with a flat-board, a wooden bed with a board placed up against the childs forehead. Another way to flatten a childs forehead would be to wrap a cloth around it until the soft skull was squared into shape.

The native Indians though similar, were unique in many different ways, and here is a place where you can learn more about their differences between the Clatsops and the Chinooks.
