A Chinook salmon lives in the ocean, but they spawn in fresh
water in large rivers, like the Columbia River. In Spring and
Fall the salmon enter the river, and head to their spawnig grounds
wich can be somtimes hundreds of miles away. They may eat anchovies
and herrings. This fish has recently been listed as protected
by the National Goverment.
