We think arch bridges are really neat, because they are one of the best bridges,because they can hold a tremendous amount of weight. Arch bridges can be fancy, casual, or messy. We think arch bridges are cool!

When you build an arch bridge it is real complicated. Any bridge is complicated. But the voussior bridge is real easy. You still have to have engeineering skill to build this bridge. The Romans {as we mentioned earlier up at the top} used what you call a voussior arch. With keystone they did this. If you imagine a ring of stone made into the shape of a circle you can see an arch. Arch bridges can expand for a long distance and still hold a lot of weight. If you replace cable or wire with rope or string and tighten it it makes it stronger just like the arch bridge. To create a voussior you need to have: stones, cement make them into a round like figure. That doesn't stand up very well, this is what the Romans thought. They first made arches with circles but that didn't work, so they split them in half so they could stand up. Now split the circle in half, so it will stand up, ask your parents for help.
