WHERE TO BUY A BIKEFirst, go to a bike shop to find out what kind of bike might be good for you. Even though the bikes there cost more than a discount store or toy store, bike shops will be able to give you more information and a better selection than a store that sells other things besides bikes.
New bikes are expensive. If you can't buy a new bike right now, maybe you can look at a garage sale or in a newspaper ad. Maybe you'll get lucky and find a great bike at a low cost. The most important thing when you buy a bike is getting one that is the right size for you. You'll need to buy a good helmet, too.
