I live in Highland Park, Illinois.
Here in Highland Park, there is a law that when you are
under fifteen, you must wear a helmet.
Students at our school are expected to
obey all of Highland Park's bicycle laws. These are the
Sherwood School rules for riding a bike to
school.
Always wear a
helmet.
Walk your bike to the bike rack.
Park and lock
your bike.
There are many Illinois laws about
bicycle safety. For example, a police officer may inspect
a bike at any time if the bike looks unsafe. Also, you
cannot carry a package or bundle which prevents you from
using two hands while riding your bike. Remember, when
you follow bicycle laws and following safety rules,
riding a bike will be more fun and safer, too!
