Valley of the Kings
It is easy to understand why the Valley of the Kings was not discovered until the 1800's. It was located over the mountain ridge and in a secluded valley. The Valley of the Kings holds over sixty-two excavated tombs. Not all of the tombs were royal. The earliest tombs of such kings as Thutmose I, Rameses XI, Rameses II, and Tutankhamun were found.
