jjjjjRogers Hornsby was born on April 27, 1896 in Winters, Texas. Rogers played second base for the Cubs and the Cardinals. Rogers helped win the Cardinals their first World Championship. In 1920, Rogers won a batting title. During a streak in 1921 to 1925, he was considered the best hitter alive. During that time period he got five batting titles. He got one more batting title in 1928. In 1942, Hornsby was elected into the Hall of Fame. His career homerun total was 301. Rogers Hornsby died in 1963.
