Roger Clemens

jjjjjRoger Clemens was born on August 4, 1962 in Dayton, Ohio. He turned down several offers to play in the Major League in order to attend college at the University of Texas. After the 1983 college season, Roger was the first pick in the draft. He was taken by the Boston Red Sox. In 1987, Roger became only the third pitcher to win back-to-back Cy Young Awards. He picked up his third Cy Young Award in 1991. Roger's nickname is "Rocket". His most memorable accomplishment was in 1986, when he struck out 20 batters, breaking the nine-inning record held by three pitchers, including Roger's idol, Nolan Ryan. He did it again, ten years later, in 1996 when he struck out 20 Detroit Tigers. He is currently playing for the New York Yankees.
