Brooks Robinson

jjjjjBrooks Robinson was born May 18, 1937, in Little Rock, Arkansas. He debuted in the major league on September 17, 1955, for the Baltimore Orioles. Brooks established a level of greatness for a modern-day third baseman. He played 23 seasons for the Orioles, setting major league records for games, put-outs, assists, chances, double plays and fielding percentage. He batted .267 lifetime with 268 career homeruns, which was an American League record for third basemen! He was the league's MVP in 1964 and the World Series MVP in 1970, when his batting average was .429. He ended his career in 1978, and was elected into the Hall of Fame by the BBWAA in 1983. He had 344 votes of the 374 cast, which is 91.98%.
