Brown Sea Hare

      The Brown Sea Hare is in the family of mollusks.  It is 16 inches long, 8 inches wide and 8 inches high.  This little animal is plump and soft and its color is reddish brownish with dark spots.  For its defense it shoots out purple dye that blinds the enemy or enemies.  The Brown Sea Hare is named for its long  and pointy rabbit ears and it is the largest sea slug!  It lives in Northern California to Baja California and it eats different types of algae.
