Striped Shore Crab

In the High Intertidal Zone there lives a little creature named the Striped Shore Crab, also known as the Lined Shore Crab.  A crab is an animal with a hard protective shell that can withstand heavy waves. Their flat shape allows them to squeeze into tight crevices.  Crabs can survive out of water for extended periods of time.  They eat bits and pieces of plants and animals.   Its scientific name is Pachygrapsus crassipes.
