The Dogwinkle

            Nucella Emarginata is another name for the Dogwinkle. It is commonly found in the mussel beds and feeds on Acorn Barnacles and small mussels. The Dogwinkle can drill through the shells with its radula, then it sucks out the meat with its proboscis. The Dogwinkle's length is about 3cm. The color is usually black or white. Its predators are gulls, sea stars and other sea birds.
