The Black Turban has a heavy bluish-blackish shell. It has a pearly layer underneath. The diet of the Black Turban consists mostly of pretty soft seaweed. They are not like chitons because they don't scrape tiny algae off the rocks. It is abundant sometimes in the Middle Intertidal Zone. They are found in dense clusters that may go up to hundreds!
I am sure if you looked hard enough in the tide pools,
you WILL find them!!!
