The California Condor



 The California Condor is one of the largest birds in the United States of America. Although it is one of the largest it's also one of the rarest in the United States. There are less than four birds in the wild and 85 birds in captivity.  The scientific name of the California Condor is Gymnogyps Californianus. Adult condors weigh up to 24 lb.. the wingspan of the adult could reach up to 9.5 feet. The neck and face of the condor is bare except for a few hairs. The bare part of the condor can turn many colors such as pink, orange, blue, red, and yellow. It's mostly pink during excitement and the breeding season. the California condor lives throughout the coast of southern California, and to San Joaquin Valley.
