Blue Whales


The Blue Whale (scientific name Balaenoptera musculus) is the largest animal that ever lived, on land or water. Blue Whales reach approximately 75-100 feet long!!  They weigh up to 180 tons ( 36,000 lb.). The Blue whales are Baleen Whales with their blowholes ( 2 ) slightly above the head. Blue Whales nurse their young and breathe air.

The Blue Whales are endangered because of man hunting them. Now there is a law protecting them.
