Nile River

The most valuable resource in any civilization is water. Ancient Egyptians built their civilization along water. The major water resource in Egypt is the Nile River. The Nile river flows 4,145 miles or 6,671 kilometers. The Nile River flows North to South and is used to live, wash and drink.

Every year in the mid July until mid October the Nile River spills over it's banks. People have been measuring it, and leveling so it will not overflow too much.

The Blue Nile and the White Nile River hit each other then separate. During this time the river becomes a habitat for the crocodiles, and the hippos.

The Nile River is important to the Egyptians and without it there might not have been such a spectacular civilization.
