Hair Dryers

The idea of a hair dryer started in 1920.  The hair dryer makes an instant of hot air, but it is light enough so it could be held in one hand, so it can be directed in the direction you want it to go.  It has a very long coil of thin wire that makes great heat.  A jet of air blown by a fan behind the heating part carries away this heat.  If the airflow is blocked and the air becomes too hot, a thermostat cuts off the power so it will not set fire.
