North Carolina is located in the eastern part of the United States.  It is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean to the east, Virginia to the north, Tennessee to the west, and South Carolina and Georgia to the south. 

The capital of North Carolina is Raleigh.  North Carolina was give the nickname, The Tarheel State.  Its state bird is the cardinal.  The state tree is the dogwood.

North Carolina is rich in history; from tales of pirates along the coast to stories from the mountains. 

Regardless of where you are in North Carolina, it is a beautiful place to be.
