Whale of a Tale

 

    I'm sure you have heard of the saying "Whale of a Tale".  Well the name killer whale is most certainly a tale.  The killer whale is actually a dolphin.  The killer whale is the biggest dolphin known to man.  Why is it called a whale if it is really a dolphin?  The killer whale was sighted over 200 years ago by a drunk sailor.   This sailor said that it was bigger than a great white and more fierce too.   This drunk sailor claimed that the killer whale attacked his boat and nearly killed him.  Notice the word "killed" in that sentence.  This sailor started a bad reputation for this gentle giant.  People, amazingly enough, found no damage to the sailor's ship.   It makes you wonder if the man even got close to the whale at all!  So now you know exactly how the killer whale got it's strange name!
