A
baby boy named Blaise Pascal was born on the 19th day of June in
1623 in Clermont-Ferrand, France. His father taught him what he
needed to know. He was often sick with major sinus pain. Growing
up he had 2 sisters whom he loved dearly. His mother passed away
when he was 6.
His father,
Etienne, was a local judge in Clermont. When Blaise was around 11
years old he, his father, and his two sisters moved to Paris and
his father was promoted to government
official.
His father
was having great difficulty counting money, so Blaise thought
about this problem and came up with "Pascal's Triangle". His
discovery is still widely praised today.
When he
became older, he became a philosopher. He died of cancer in 1662.
After his death, his sister published some of his writings in a
book called "Pensees"
("Thoughts").
