Trains
Until the invention of the train, very few people could get any further than the next village.  Steam trains or locomotives are some of the most extraordinary machines in the world.  When the giant steam locomotive monsters roared into a train station there was a roar of excitement.  The English were the first people to try to build the first train or locomotive driven by a steam engine.  Electric locomotives are very much different than steam and diesel engines.

James E. Watt’s first steam engine was completed in 1769.  Finally on May 10, 1869, trains of the two railroads met at Promontory, Utah.
